Revision Vs Climbing

Twenty-ten.......

After starting the New Year with one mother of a hangover thanks to the public house over the road and a slightly merry Mum feeling generous at the turn of a decade, I had a most uneventful January 1st.

What has the first week held for me then:
Running- I have been running again and loving it as much as I did pre-IT band (right leg) spazzing out. Its been great, although slightly arduous trudging through ankle deep snow in bitterly cold weather but what matters is my leg is holding out.

Revision- As i'm in third year now I feel more obliged to revise. This, however, does not mean I actually do any. I've been slowly plugging away at my Hypoxia mind map. Who'd of thought being super fit could reduce your Vo2Max at sea level never mind 4000metres... exercise induced arterial hypoxemia in endurance trained athletes (Dempsey & Wagner, 2006)!! Very exciting stuff.

Climbing- More excitingly is my Personality module..... narcississm and the oedipus complex. How convenient that these 2 core topics are also classic highballs at Froggatt Edge, great excuse to go try them... Had a great day out with the Hamer Brothers back from their Siurana trip to Froggatt. Plenty of pads and plenty of psyche = great day despite the drip - drip - drip of snow followed by the instant freezing of anything and everything, including my socks!

All in all a not too shabby start to this year.

Also back on the running note my brother proposed a 24 hour race at the start of August as a pair. I think the general gist was that either one of us is running and we have to go as far as we can in 24 hours. I'm not sure how but he really sold it to me.......
